Unique green-red foliage and blazing-red, long-lasting flowers |
|
About CelosiaIt’s hard to miss Celosia’s feathery, dramatic plumes! This annual is related to Amaranth (a commonly harvested grain) and is technically edible as a young plant before flowering, but it is really just too pretty to eat knowing what a beauty it will become with its wooly, deep-colored spikes. Celosia can be quite short (just a few inches high) but may grow up to a few feet tall in bright sun and favorable soil and water conditions. It really shines as a cut flower, and dries beautifully while retaining its rich colors, making it a valuable addition to your garden or planters from mid-summer all the way through fall. |
